As you progress through your weeks of training, you will begin to feel improvements in your health, fitness, and athletic performance. Here’s what to look for as you keep track of your wins:
As you increase muscle mass from your strength training, you’ll get stronger. Your body composition will change, and you may be able to feel and see the decrease in fat and the increase in muscle. Muscle mass determines the size of your caloric burning engine, and generally, more is better.
Your cardiovascular ability will improve, and you’ll notice that you can attain higher levels of speed and power at a lower heart rate. Cardiovascular training is also how you cue your metabolic engine to burn fat for energy.
And as the fat comes off and the muscle builds, you may not always see a smaller number on the scale, and you’ll also notice the inches you’re losing from your waistline.
Whether or not you’re tracking your progress, you’ll be making fitness gains as you follow your New Leaf nutrition and exercise plan. But if you are tracking your progress, you’ll be the first to know when your firmer, fitter, faster self is ready to kick it up a notch.
