When you’re in pursuit of a fitness goal, there’s no reason to go it alone. Yes, of course you’re the only one who can actually do the workouts, lift the weights, and eat the meals your body needs to achieve a better state of fitness. But even with the best intentions, there will be days when you desperately need someone else to provide the motivation and enforce the discipline to keep you on track with your workout plan.
That’s why you need a support team. As inspiring as it can be to review your New Leaf metabolic assessment results and know that you’re improving your fat-burning efficiency week after week, there’s nothing like a little human interaction to keep your spirits up as you pursue your goal. (Not to mention the benefit of a little friendly chiding to keep you accountable. You know, someone who can say “Did you really get in your full workout today?” with that just-so raised eyebrow encouraging you to be completely honest with yourself.)
Your support team will be your fan club, your advocate, your ally. Anyone who cares about you and your goals can be a member of your support team: a friend, family members, your trainer, a doctor, your nutritionist, a neighbor, a coworker. Your support team can also help you track how consistently you’ve trained and how closely you’ve followed your nutritional plan.
Members of your support team will encourage you to get on the treadmill when you’d rather sit on the couch. They’ll celebrate your successes with you, and envy your progress. They may even get inspired by your efforts, and hop on the health and fitness bandwagon with you!
