New Leaf Active Metabolic Training™ Technology Provides Innovative New Offering for Equinox Fitness Clubs Members
SAINT PAUL, Minnesota – The New Leaf Health & Fitness unit of Angeion Corporation (Nasdaq: ANGN–News) today announced it has signed an agreement to supply metabolic measurement technology and products to Equinox Fitness Clubs.
The New Leaf Active Metabolic Training™ System takes a scientific picture of an individual’s metabolism both at rest and during exercise. The technology can measure the number of calories a person can eat each day without gaining weight and determine exactly how hard they need to exercise to reach personal fitness goals. The ten-minute exercise assessment is easily performed on any cardio equipment in the club such as a treadmill, bike, or elliptical machine. Exhaled air is analyzed for oxygen and carbon dioxide while monitoring heart rate during exercise. The result is a personalized profile of the fuels (fats and carbohydrates) and calories burned along with the person’s level of aerobic fitness, anaerobic threshold and peak oxygen capacity. These personal metabolic markers are key to creating truly customized exercise and dietary programs that assist club members in achieving their weight management, health and fitness, or athletic performance goals.
