Part of what makes starting a fitness program so intimidating is that just about everything feels unfamiliar. With New Leaf’s Active Metabolic Training, you very quickly get familiar with your body, how it responds to exercise, and what it does with the food you eat.
The two-part assessment includes a resting evaluation and an exercise one. The resting assessment is a breeze, and the exercise evaluation is a bit like taking a car out for a road test—the short, quick drive gives you insight you can only get from being behind the wheel. Overall, assessing your metabolism is a very easy thing to do. You just show up and follow the instructions of a trained metabolic specialist. Your specialist, in turn, gives you a clear, simple explanation of what your body does with its fuel (the food you eat) when at rest and while exercising, how your system responds to exercise, what type of fuel your body uses most often, and how much fuel you use at different levels of exercise intensity.
The information that comes from your metabolic assessment is used to create a program of effective workouts that teach your body to burn fat efficiently when your body needs energy. "Umm, what does that mean?” you might be asking. It means that when you exercise, you can take satisfaction in knowing that you’re burning fat—instead of just time. A couple of other possible satisfying side effects of a work out plan based on your New Leaf metabolic assessment: You may find yourself eating a little more than you’d planned and working out less than you might’ve imagined.
